Victoria Falls Activities

Batoka Gorge Challenge

The group will be collected at 14.00hrs from their respective hotels and taken to the Lookout on the edge of the Zambezi river for the start of their Batoka Gorge Challenge. A briefing will be given, rules announced, indemnities signed and staff introduced. The group will then be divided into teams where participants are expected to complete the following tasks:

Start Time: 14.00pm

First Challenge:

Teams will complete a Canopy Tour

• Expected time: 1 hour 40 minutes

• Points: 20

Second Challenge:

Two team members from each team will, whilst doing a gorge swing, have to release a water balloon, and hit a Target 100m below in the gorge.

• Expected time: 15 minutes per team

• Points:15

Third Challenge:

Tandem Zip Line where each team has to drop a Water Balloon at the target in the gorges travelling 80km/hour

• Expected Time: 15 minutes

• Points: 15

 

Zambezi River Challenge

The group will be collected at 14.00hrs from their respective hotels and taken to the Lookout on the edge of the Zambezi river for the start of their Zambezi River Team Building Challenge. Each group will be allocated a driver and a Safari vehicle in which they can leave their belongings. A briefing will be done, rules announced, indemnities signed and staff introduced. The groups will be divided into teams and expected to complete the following tasks:

Start Time: 14.00hrs

First Challenge:

The teams will be sent to the Victoria Falls Local Food Market. Here each team will be given a US$ amount of money (by the group organiser) and a list of basic goods the local people need to survive. Teams will need to barter with the local people to get all the items on their list. From here they will be given the address of an orphanage in need and an old age home, they will deliver the food to the home and orphanage and then meet the people.

• Time Required: 60 minutes

• Points: 20

Second Challenge:

All teams will board their vehicles and drive into the Zambezi National Park to the launch site of the next challenge. You will be allocated a guide, and in inflatable rafts, race 100m through small rapids.

• Time Required: 1.30 minutes

• Points: 15

Third Challenge:

Once you disembark your craft every team member will have to be face painted in an African themed design.

• Time Required: 30 minutes

• Points: 15 – Best Design

Travel Insurance
Clients are required to have personal travel insurance on our trips. This insurance should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities:

Compulsory Cover must include:

• Emergency evacuation expenses

• Medical expenses

• Repatriation expenses

Recommended Insurance:

• Cancellation or curtailment of trip

• Damage/theft/loss of personal luggage, money and goods

Insurance & Medical Air Rescue Service

  • All guests are covered by Medical Air Rescue Service (M.A.R.S)
  • Wild Horizons Chobe Day Trips have offshore Public Liability of 1.5 Billion Rand.

The company and its agents, act only as agents of the company or persons making the safari in all matters relating to accommodation, touring and transport whether by road, raft, canoe, high wire or by any other means. The company shall not be liable for death, injury, delay, loss or damage arising from any cause and in any manner whatsoever.

Liability to passengers carried in any vehicle, or vessel owned by the companies governed by the laws of the country in which such safaris take place, and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which the cause of action arises.

The company or its sub‐contractors reserves the right to refuse to accept, or retain any persons on a tour or safari, at any time should such a person’s physical or mental health and condition impede the operation of the safari or the welfare and the enjoyment of other tour passengers. Equitable refunds in such cases may be made.

 

Cancellation Fees

  • Cancellation more than 60 days before date of travel – no charge
  • Cancellation between 30 and 60 days before date of travel – 20% cancellation fees
  • Cancellation between 30 days before date of travel – 50% cancellation fees
  • Cancellation within 7 days before date of travel – 80% cancellation fees
  • Cancellation within 24 hours or No Show – 100% cancellation fees

All publicity material put out by the company has been lodged with Zimbabwe Tourist Association and there by accepted by the Association as being a fair and honest representation of the safaris offered.
